beardies come from all over australia
so saying its just on hard packed clay is silly

I have sand in my frilled dragon tank, pine snake tank, indigo snake tank, beaded lizard tank, and mata mata turtle tank. Not once have I had a single problem with it. I usually use play sand but in my Beaded enclosure, I have leveling sand since it is larger grain, more natural (and less beachy) looking and it will hold borrows quite well.
