SAND+FILTER= CLOGGED BURN'T OUT FILTER

find either a pool supply or water quality shop nearby and they should sell 50 lb. bags for under $10. ask for "pool filter sand", it works great.
 
Yeah...pool filter sand should solve that problem. I burnt out an AC filter when I was using play sand in another tank.
 
Man you guys must have some short tanks to get playsand being pulled up into the intake on a AC... I have 2 AC 50's on a 10 gallon with playsand in it... (Feeder tank) Both filters are turned down to almost the min setting but I've never even seen a single grian of sand float anywhere.... when i turn them up the sand gets blown all over the place from the output...but then I also get comets being sucked into the intakes LMAO So I tend to keep it turned down .... :ROFL:

My problem was some of the fish I had kept stirring up the sand enough to get some in the filter. It didn't take a whole lot to make my filter sound like crap.
