sand for freshwater tank

i used a fine powdery beach sand. people didn't recommend it mind you, but i use it and it looks fantastic. my next thread will be about sand actually

and about the "suckage" that comes with rinsing sand... dude you have no idea... haha.
i probably wasted enough water to match the cost of buying enough aquarium-branded sand... ran that hose for over an hour straight before the sand water became clear enough to be deemed clean... and it looked pristine at first glance too..
but i guess i could note that the cost of the sand was free. unfortunately, the processing was not. lol

thanks again everyone I just moved the 75 and found some pool sand..... cleaning wasnt as much as a pain as I thought.... It looks really good going from black gravel where any brown algae was easy to see to a beautiful sand substrate... so much more natural... thanks again
