GUYS ! Amateur snakehead keeper here and i need you opinions, and fast. Should i put sand in my 50 gal. Aquarium for my 3 juvenile 4" snakehead ? Cause whenever I see them swimming away from me either startled I've noticed that their lower mouth or jaw touches the bottom of my aquarium while swimming i mean is this their natural way of swimming or i don't know. And BTW i have a driftwood in my current aquarium.

Sand is fine, Not sure about the swimming

What type of snakehead ?

Hi,

i had sand in most of my 17 tanks. Some species like to dig in it (my asiatica did) . But fine silica gravel si ok , too

Cheers

All of my Channa tanks have sand substrate.
The only time that I see mine swim with their jaws down are when they are squaring up to fight, but not when they are startled.
