Sand for stingrays

i thoght so as when i was a franks yesterday he had dont the same sand/gravel mix but with slightly more gravel but the same color as the sand and that didnt seam to stick to the rays at all

Pool filter sand. It is 100% quartz and it is a larger grain than most other sands.

This is what I prefer to use as well. I've had great success with it in the past.
 
ive read before not to use a silica base sand
 
I must say - that pool filter sand does look very sharp and coarse. I would have thought that would irritate fish and rub their skin too much.

the trouble with black sand is it make the tank look very dark but it does work very well with flower rays and tigers as it makes the yellow and base color of thease rays look alot better

Most filter sand in the states is round in shape or 'beaded'. It works very well for use as ray substrate.
