SAND-HOME DEPOT??

can I just go to home depot and use the sand there.This is for my freshawater cichlid tanks.I think it looks way better and supposed to be easier to clean and good for breeding right?

Which cichlids.. American or african... If american this would be ideal.. But africans would be betters off with crushed coral or sand more suited for the african terrain.. I've seen better results with ocean sand or crushed coral with Africans than with regular sand.. Plus you live right next to the ocean so it would be even cheaper than hopme depot

This is just my personal experience Plus a couple long talks with a local breeder...

I use play sand from Lowe's in most of my tanks.. it works fine you just really need to rinse it over and over and over and over and over. Then when you finally think your done do it again.

If you want clean sand, try pool filter sand (Rally, I did that for you )

The first time I used it I neglected to rinse it also.. after 4 weeks it was still cloudy with little sand particles.. Took about 2 months for everything to settle. No exageration either.

I have heard Estes sand is really nice. Dougefresh has some in his tank and it looks pretty awesome. I bought a bag for my nano hermit tank!

I am a big fan of sand-blasting sand.. I use it in almost all my tanks!
