I went BB in my 125G for awhile. My fish's negative reaction was very obvious. I think they were freaked out with the reflections and pink foam I had under the tank.

When I finally decided to give up satisfying my self-interest (easier cleaning) and do what is better for the fish, I added sand. I did it while the fish were in the tank; over a period of a few days. When I put the first 20lbs in, within minutes, some of the fish moved over to the sand and made themselves at home.

No more BB for me.

Barebottoms show poop. BIG POOP!!!

Not if you have a good filtration system that will suck up the poop.

I dont mind cleaning or vacuming. I do 50% water changes every week on all my tanks. But i do mind trying to get sand out of the props of my filters lol. I am kind of interested in the possibility of painting the bottom black..

As for filtration I have two 350 penguin bio wheels on the 75.
