Sand or Gravel

I switched to Tahitian Black moon sand and I see EVERY turd!!! But I still like the look... when its clean!!! I'm a neat freak when it comes to my tank so I'm doing waaaay more water changes. I sometimes think of getting rid of my Pleco because he's a turd machine but I like him so I'll just keep up the hard work. I also notice that I can siphon Piranha poo fairly easy but the pleco drop some dense and heavy shhhh...tuff. It takes much more effort to get it out of my tank. Anybody have that problem? What can I do to make it easier. I'm usually tempted to just scoop it out with a net.:D
