hey i have a question i have crushed marble for the bottom of my tank it looks ok but i have seen tanks with sand they look awsome. i have 1 oscar 7inch's long another oscar that is still a baby 2-3 inchs three electric cichlids all about 3 inchs a blue one same size a jd 3inch's and two plecos about 5 inchs would sand be alright for them i dont need or want it to harm them thanks i will also search the forum too thanks

I like the look of sand, but personally I find it a PITA when it is time for maintenance.

sand finishes ur tank off i think but it is very hard to maintaine i have found, so im thinkin again of changing bk to gravel. i have 8 red bellie piranahs and a common plec in there.afta every water change and vacum id do garanteed the plec would sh*t everywere lol and within 10 mins it would be stinkin again ur fish will be fine with it but i personally think its hard to make ya tank lood clean. gl on ya choice

surely a couple plecos can't mess more than a snakehead. i don't find it too much of a mission to clean sand.

Common plecos leave huge trails of mess. Imo that would be a nightmare in a sand bottom. Also, whats the tank size?
