sand or no sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two tanks, one with crushed aragonite and one with tahitian moon sand. I prefer the sand. I like the way it looks. Plus the fish I'm getting to stock that tank with like rumaging in sand so they should be happy and hopefully they'll keep the waste stired up so the filter could catch it. Maintenance is harder, if you have a deep sand bed you have to stir it once a week to prevent bacteria from forming gas pockets in it. I prefer the black sand because it doesn't look like it's dirty five minutes after I clean the tank. I've also heard a higher water current keeps the waster from settling and the filter catches it better although I don't know how true that is.

i have a 180 gallon tank not sure on what i would like to do maybe if i can do some more structure in the tank it would look better thanks guys
