I like the pool filter sand so much I even use it in my feeder tank.

pool filter sand is the best unless you want a different color.

Can't see the sand very well but its the only pic I have of the 55g with pool filter sand substrate. The bad thing about sand is that it holds air/gas after it starts cycleing, just have to stir the sand up once or twice a week. Also some fish love moveing the sand from point a to point b.
