Sand question

how many rocks do you have? i don't really see a need for eggcrate unless you have high stacks of rocks, and in that case you can "glue" them together with something like silicone. you can also push the base rocks a bit into the sand so you have a stronger foundation
 
Yeah I'm starting to think it'd be best to remove the eggcrate...I don't have all that much actual weight on the bottom and it seems like the hundreds of little squares/pockets of sand could be more risky than they're worth.

I'll probably silicone the rocks together, remove the eggcrate and call it good.
 
Nah, Your just gonna have to be careful when you mess with your aquarium. you don't want egg cartons in there. you'll regret it later.:cry:
