tong and i went today, we asked for pool filter sand, and they sent us to the gardening section, and all they had was gravel, so we asked another guy, he said its in the corner, nothing there, we asked another guy, and he said its at the other end of the store, in the left corner. on the way there, we asked another worker, he said it was on the right corner of the end. it ended up being on the right side. dam workers.... -_-

anywho, we ended up getting play sand, 50 lbs. for about $5.
they didnt have pool filter sand, and the rest was like cement.

i poured in all the sand at once, and my tank is clouded like hell!! i cant see past 1 inch. my fish are inside also o_O. how can i get it to settle faster?
i have my air stones turned on to the max right now, will that make it settle faster or is it worse?
i turned my filter off so it doesnt suck up sand and break.

If you have another tank i would suggest moving your filter and fish to it so your bacteria in the filter doesnt die. It could take a few days for your sand to settle. Play sand is just that dirty.....thats why i dont like to use it. Im not sure how it will affect your fish, but it could harm your filter. Good luck, hope everything works out ok.

ETA (assuming the tank is ready for fish)
