im mean its actually sticking and flaking off in patches not just sitting on top of them...

I remember I had sand sticking to my fish, but it was like powder. Got rid of it because my pleco couldn't cruise across it and it killed one of my filters

But play sand I never have a problem with.

well everyone seems to say this is normal so ill give it so time and see how it goes....

Playsand will allways stick. If it's coming off patchy you may want to check your parameters again

FYI - Pool Filter sand does not stick...
