I just changed out gravel to sand in my 37g tank, based on the comments of people on this forum. I rinsed the sand a few times before I put it in, but I still have lots of floating bits throughout the tank, and lots on the top. I've been using one of my nets to gather them up, but I'm looking for a less labor intensive way to get at them.

Thanks.

they will leave give them time

Meaning, they will fall? I'm just trying to avoid them going through my filters. I put a sponge on my AC70 and my Fluval 305 but I think my AC already bit the dust, and I'm pissed.

dude turn the filter off then, it nut woth ruining a filter

What sand did you buy?...I got a hundred pound sac of "pool filter sand" for 15 bux, and after a brief rinsing, very brief, it all just settled to the bottom (after a very large PaCu decided where he wanted the dunes)...no floaters at all...

It will generally settle after a few days. I dont really see it hurting the filter really, just make sure you check your impeller in a few days just to be sure. :D

Without the sponge and filter media bag covering the inlets, it shut the AC 70 down within 20 minutes, but after I cleaned the impeller and put the sponge and bag on, its been operating just fine.
