After many labourous hours of reasearch, (ok, it was fun!) ...
I have picked up only 100 lbs of pool filter sand (pfs)

I am not begiinning the next change. Currently all gravel and everything is still in tank. Going to take it out shortly. But not sure if BB will be affected if I switch it in one day?

Because its all to one side, I have bare bottom on the other. and my ray loves it so much more than the gravel. Anywhoo. Here I go!

i didnt even bother washing mine. i found it didnt really need it. the tank was only cloudy very little until the next day.

Wow! Really! I wish it was like that for me! My sand right out of the bag, and mixed with water, makes mud colored water! I have to wash about 20 times to get clear water!

And. to make it worse, the best pressure in my laundry room, comes from the cold tap! :irked:

In the end it will be well worth the work.

With mine i started to rince a small amount and nothing really happened, water stayed the same, so i just dumped it in and only a small amount of dust formed... guess we use different PFS

Probably different stuff. I wish I had your stuff! This will take ages! And I'm thinking that I'll need about 150 lbs of it. Wasnt sure on the idea of pfs so I just bought a couple bags.
