Ok! So I actually ended up getting 60 lbs of very fine aragonite and 20 lbs of black sand, do you think thatd be enough to have about 1 1'2 inch to 2 inchs of sandbed?

Here's mine..black background and black sand

Any marine sand of the right size will work for that. But in FW crushed coral in your filter (like carbon) may be much more effective.

I wouldn't recommend light backgrounds or substrates. They cause fish to wash out their colors. Dark backgrounds and substrates not only show off colors better but actually cause fish to produce more pigment, they are physiologically more colorful. The black and white mixed is a good option, there are pictures in my photobucket album in my signature.

how much did it run you? cuz i like the black sand look
Three 20lb bags @14.99 each. It was expensive but I felt it was def worth it!!
I love it!

yeah it might be worth that when i get a few paychecks ....why is black so much more expensive lol..

I use 50/50 : PFS/Aragonite

cuts the cost in half and worked out fine for me...

be careful to wash it WELL or you wont see your fish for the next week, made this mistake the 1st time. what 10-20 min work will do is save you a week of frustration.
