Sand with bichirs

Which sand looks better for bichirs?

I use black sand (3m colorquartz sand) and it seems to make my bichirs greener. I really like it. Many people say that a red or dark brown color sand makes the colors on a bichir pop out the most though. See some of Hao's old picture threads to see the good colors on his polys. Also, some people say that having black or dark substrate makes certain bichirs like endlies a lot darker, but I like really dark looking endlies so I don't mind.

Don't forget to prepare it right though, or you may regret it. Getting the "dust" out is essential.
 
oh yea i plan on washing it multiple times believe me, and pictures will come when i can borrow my GF's camera haha, it might take a few days!
 
Properly prepared sand isn't much harder. I have seen a tiled tank that was technically bare bottom I suppose, that looked fantastic.
 
I have the black sand in my main tank,it like the way my fish stands out on it, my polys have gotten dark on it, some very dark other not too much.
