sand

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hmm. I haven't tried it but Ive used white sand, and have some black sand, I can mix some today and post some pics if you want, although thats not a promise as the black sand doesnt belong to me, but i can check.

Im guessing it would kind of look like poppy seed, or an overall grey. otherwise a gimmicky kind of dalmation color.

It would be cool if it all became a mixed color, fish crap and stuff would show up a lot less.

thanks v. much shadowvengance, i couldn't decide what to put in tank, and thought, hey, wonder what a mix would be like. i might try it actually

heres a mix of black and white.

i have one tank with black, one with white and one with both

i used to love the black but now i dont really, its too hard to keep clean, theres too much other stuff in it like white sand, small shavings of driftwood from the plecos and leftover green and white gravel.

i like the all white, or the mix of the two.

i think im going to put more black into the mix

a mix of black and white sand looks awsome, the fist time i have seen it was at a LFS in a south american biotope aquarium housing rays and geos. Be aware that you only need to have 1 part black sand to 5 parts white sand. The nice color also helps hide fish poop. The brand of sand was estes.
