Sand?

Pool filter sand.

I get it from any pool supply store. about $9 for a 25lb bag.

Safe to use, just rinse like gravel and put in your tank.

I got black estes' marine sand in one of my 125s.

They have blue green(I think) and white. If you are looking for something like that. The only problem is they are a little on the pricy side at $.75-1 a lb.

you can get black moon sand off ebay for real cheap, shipping is even decent!

i got silica sand from a contractor supply co in my town. silica sand is basicly sand blasting sand. $12 for a 100lb bag. its even sold by granule size, i got #0. there are finer sizes and a coulpe larger sizes too. only one thing to worrie about, the dust is extreamly poisonous to humans (your lungs), i would ware a mask when handleing it. defenately wash the sand before you place it in your tank. it takes about 10 minutes to wash the sand in a 5 gallon bucket.

i tried the play sand but it took way too long to clean all the clay out of the sand. after 30 minutes of cleaning, it was still cloudy. thats why i went the silica sand route. much quicker and accually cheaper too...
