:WTF:

Oh my God this gets on my nerves. Who the FVCK are you to say you will not be "following anything on this site again...?!" Who gives a rat's ass what you do and don't do? You come here for help and advice. You didn't do your own homework, you went like an idiot and dumped a crapload of fine fine dust particles in water with fish in there and now you come here and go off on everyone with your half ass broken English because you acted like an idiot?

I am surprised anyone even replied to your post!! The people here are helpful and nice, except for cretins like yourself. Get an education, read books and forums on fish keeping and figure it out on your own. If you had read this forum you would have found MANY threads like this one where people tell you that play sand looks great but is difficult not to stir up, and that is why a lot of people prefer pool filter sand.

Geez!

Aw, ya beat me to it!

I use the play sand in all my tanks and I love it. Since I battle with ADHD I have issues with not waiting for things so I had lots of problems mentioned because I DIDNT CLEAN IT PROPER! You clean before or after your choice. I took out all the filter media and packed it with floss and was perfect after a day.

I use the aforementioned playsand in my tanks and I love it. Admittedly, I'm going to upgrade to Pool Filter Sand on my next set up but playsand is a good alternative as it's so cheap. If you're not willing to be patient and follow the necessary steps in order to do something right then maybe fish aren't for you. Water too cloudy? try a couple water changes. Seems like common sense to me but what do I know since I don't have 1000 posts right? Bottom line: Playsand is not the cleanest substrate in the entire world and, even if you rinse it til it runs clear, you WILL have cloudy water at first. NO MATTER WHAT. I'm impatient and, even for me, it took me two hours to rinse 150 pounds of playsand, get it in the tank, and get the water clear.

It took me over three hours to rinse two 50 lbs play sand bags that I got from Home Depot. I called several pool supply stores for the pool filter sand, but none carry it. So I just got the play sand instead.

Pool filter sand..... 5 minutes to clean per 50lbs, over 300lbs of sand. 8 tanks with pool filter sand. and i love it.:D:headbang2

Home Depot sand or play ground sand. i Figuered i would give this a try as my lfs doesnt carry and sand or S/W fish. Very bad idea. I even followed all the steps to rinse it like the diy forum suggested. Who ever the f***** idiot was that said home depot sand was ok is a F***** moron. I cleaned it tell the water ran clear like suggested. I stired the sand and let it run again and i will be damned if it didnt turn my tank water to mud.

I have some very Pissed off fish atm and i will not be following anything on this site again unless someone posts how and what that has more sence then a 3 year old or more then 1000 posts.

Sorry to flame but im sick of to many know it alls that run rampent on forum sites then add that they are god and this so works better then the real thing.
Me personaly i will be buying sand online as i dont need fish that are $50 plus to die becuase i wanted a cheap way out.

Man this thread made me smile . I used 3 50 lb bags of sand from home depot. the cheap variety . cleaned it as best i could and added it to my tanks , went cludy as hell. obviously , so i waited for my filtration to do its job of cleaning the water , 2 days later cleaner as it has always been . dont blame ure impatience or ignorance on this site and members. what did u expect crystal clear water instantly? its play sand!!! not mentfor aquariums so of course it would be cloudy for a while .
