I like most folks here (I guess, since these are really only typed letters), but if I was to go vacation and tell everyone here I would check in every so often, I would be truthful and mean it, but would probably "forget" once I was underway.

Man, of course..would happen with everybody. The point is that one guy let us all know that he was going fishing in Florida, put up a zillion threads about it, full of questions and etc...and suddendly vanishes in thin air...
now we all know about this cybernetic relationship we have with each other here at MFK, it is what it is , no more, but also ( if it is to be worth anything ) no less...
and in some sort of strange, cybernetic, ethereal way , people grow some form of attachment ( after all you spend some time typing things to and fro ) to the people on the other side, and, where I stand, that type of "attachment", of knowledge, is enough to not simply "forget" such person when same suddendly disappears ......

Hopefully he'll check in at some point. The scary point of it is his inexperiance in wilderness apparently (from lack of equipment/questions). Other than that I'd say he's probably having fun and will be back.
