The thing that makes me nervous is the fact that I want an 8x4 tub. If you had a leak with 10mm glass, imagine the thickness I'd need for an 8x4. I'm sure thickness of the glass plays some role in minimising flex.

Its gota help id say thicker the better , prob is the cost trying it out think id rather play it safe and build a raised box and line it out with viewing panel , plywoods got to be stronger than that preformed thin plastic ( if you build it right that is)
