Saratoga leichardti

Well, you all know where my vote is. I personally prefer jar's coloration (especially mine :D) and you could definately keep one in your current tank for life. If you're very lucky, you might even be able to keep one with tankmates, but I wouldn't count on it... ;)

Well lets see it, post a pic. Right now I am leaning toward the leichardti as I have only seen afew Jardinis and they didn't as good, real drab and pale, but if yours have good colouration I woud love to see it. On the plus side I wouldn't need a larger tank but the Jardinis dont grow as big as the Leichardti and I want a BIG fish (how big do they grow).

Jar's coloration develops with age and is also possibly dependent on water quality and diet. Most big jars that I've seen in LFSs have been pretty washed out. Mine's currently around 18" and still growing. I got him about 1.5 years ago at 8"... :D

Great lookibg Jardini, best I've seen, he looks much thicker then a leichardti. But I still want a leichardti, guess I will just have to buy a new tank when it out grows my 6fter.

Glad you chimmed in here, with pics even, Jardiniboy. I agree with you I think the Jar has better colors. The iradescent coppers of the Jar I find very attractive.

i have a 8 inch leichardti and it does have its barbels is there anything wrong with it?

No.there is nothing wron with it...probably lost them along the way for whatever reason..does not imply with her quality of life..

How many of you have actually seen a full grown mature leichardti with full coloration?
