sardine and anchovie advice/ bait store

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

I only feed my pets either a super premium pelletized food or human-consumption grade natural food. This is a habit that I picked up many moons ago when I was still young and impressionable and decided to buy my first German shepherd.

The bait quality fish here obviously don't meet that criteria.

There is very likely nothing wrong with them and I'm sure many people feed them with great success. However, as I've said here and elsewhere, I like to err on the side of caution when it comes to my pets. :)

I came up with a great idea.

www.wholey.com

These guys sell 4 LB of fresh frozen Sardines frozen at sea. They have a flat 40 dollar shipping to San Diego. I am gonna buy 12LBs and also buy some Lobster meat for myself.

Great link! It's only $20 shipping for me so lookalike I'll be getting 8 or 12 lbs of sardines. Thanks for that

I been feeding frozen Anchovies and Sardines for a long time. Both of these are in the top 5 for very high in Omega3. The Sardines I slice up the Anchovies I usually just break them in halve. Sometimes I throw them in whole. My bichirs love them my Masheers eat em my GATF and VATF like to eat it. The Sardines are a bit oily but that is the Omega3. You really need a overflow system to keep the oil slick out of your tank when feeding Sardines.

thanks for your message, do you buy them at your local bait store?

Finally I went to 99 Ranch today and they have the most insane Seafood section I ever seen.

I ended up buying 5 LB of wild caught sardines
2 LB of wild caught Goby Fish
2 LB of wild caught Yellow Stripe Travally.
2 Smaller size Mackeral.

I remember WingChun giant Armatus that was being fed live goby fish!

I will post some pics soon!

I've always been curious about this topic. I used to have a huge clown knife that I would feed sardines but a bunch of people on here said to stay away from sardines. Why is that?
