Satanoperca acuticeps

I've been doing some reading, and as always, I hear these are prone to HITH and bloat. Have you noticed any issues with feeding them typical pellets or frozen foods? I would try these guys, but my pH is in the mid 7s and I don't know how Satanoperca would react to that. It hasn't been a problem for any of the fish here so far, but I know they have a reputation for being more sensitive.

They didn't get hith, and I didn't see any sign of bloating. They got mostly pellets like other fish. Honestly I didn't pay too much attention to what happened....don't remember anything unusual...

Got the back and sides of a 20 long painted (badly) and went to my storage unit yesterday and picked up a bunch of river rocks. Also bought some Seachem Stability that JK47 recommended. Just can't find a piece of light colored driftwood I'm looking for though.

Drive south and you can pick up all the wood you want free, I gots lots! This species makes me so jealous! I am glad one of us gets to keep them! The dorsal reminds me of a marlin.. Sexy!

Exciting What are you going to start with?

I'm shooting for Laetacara araguaiae ... it's been on the dream list for over a decade. But I'm not known for my patience so it could end up being anything.

*lol* The idea is to set it up without spending money!!! I have a piece of mopani that's the right color, just not shaped quite how I want it. A trip down there would be over $100 just in gas!!! And you know I'd buy something fishy-spendy from you know where if I was down there.
