Your fish look fine to me as well. Temperature between 82-84º is best. Live baby brine shrimp is best for fry, but they also do well on the frozen bbs and even the powdered foods. When they are a little larger, crushed vegi-flakes are another good option.

Different populations would certainly breed with one another. The exception (from your list) might be S. cf. Amazonas Red, since it is reportedly an immediate mouth brooder. I am not sure if behaviorally that would work out or not.
In the U.S. the vast majority are from Guyana. The fish in this thread is very different from those.
