ok guy i have been looking at getting one of these guys from my cuz (he owns his own store). i was thinking of doing a 6foot by 2.5foot by 4 foot tall encloser with 2 48 inch uvb 10.0 lighting, 1 hot spot, one ceramic heater, and 2 nocternal lighing. sound good?

wow, that would be fine. Make sure there is at least a few inches of substrate but the rest sounds great.

I am keeping mine without any UVB (since they only need minute amounts that can be received from the plentiful ambient light in that room) and in a much smaller enclosure (4x2x1.5'). He will eventually need a bigger one but for the most part your tank is going to be way overkill- but that is not such a bad thing.

Since it is going to be 4' tall, you are going to need a way to heat the lower parts of the cage since I am assuming that the heat lamps will be on top of it. I am worried that if the cage is made out of hardware cloth or some material that allows for air flow that much of the cage will become too cold during the cooler months. If it is being made out of wood or glass then it should retain its heat fine.

Also any branches and things that you put in there will have to be thick and sturdy. Sav's are clumsy climbers and are likely to fall easily otherwise.

yep it would be a plywood tank build with openable top two openings and sliding glass front 1/2 inch wood and 1/4 inch glass. i was going to use a 160watt powersun uv light for the hot spot and with a 100watt ceramic heater i thought i would be ok for heat and i would put two house vent covers on the sides to control the air flow a little bite

i would but it would be a bit@# to fit through a door

and it would take up alot of floor space the hieght will be fine ill put up selfs for him that are removable for when he get huge

what the best food for babies? other then crickets?

Make sure you have at least a foot of soil substrate for an adult. They do like to dig.

Another food choice to feed a baby would be roaches.
