Save a catfish foundation... kinda

If you are heading south for a spring break, swing by Naples - I'll take him. :)

What size is your tank? Were u JUST selling a RTC jardini and some other fish because they'd grow too large? .....

Cousin has a big indoor pond out on the east end of the island. my RTC is being grown out for him but am trying to sell it because I want some more polys and don't want it eating all of them :p

:) I was talking a convenient drop-off (read "zero expense to me" - aren't I special?), not a dedicated trip :) At least your fish would have a chance to live at a small Public Aquarium. Good luck anyway, bro!

Id be willing to meet u half way. And the store is still going to charge me for the fish. Im willing to take a loss and make the trip for the fish if your willing to make any kind of travel sacrifice.

I commend your love for this fish! This is great!

If he was super rare and expensive, I'd at least consider it, although half-way to NY means ~700 miles, which is still too much. If I had to do it for even a small fraction of fish I handle, I'd go belly up very quickly. What people normally do is drop off their fish and get free admission(s). I may travel some too indeed but that's local driving, no more than 1-2 hours one way. Again, depends on the fish's desirability and rarity. If I had to rescue like a dozen of fish, of course, I'd be motivated to go farther.

BigRich and his sons went from OH to WA for 19 fish. They are my heros for sure: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?359060-Big-Catfish-Need-Homes-FREE!-WA-State

One idea that so far never came to fruition is to see if one can find a kind long-distance trucker who may get it within my range.

you might try putting it on u-ship, seeing if there are any folks going from your area to either texas or NY, either way you'd have a taker.

Thanks, Adam. That's an interesting alternative I didn't know about. http://www.uship.com/ Have you ever got quotes on live fish shipping from them?
