Save Rocky the Snakehead, sign petition

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sign and made very positive comment. Hope hes able to keep the fish. If I were him Id write a letter to state senator/governor, etc.. There the ones that can easily save the fish with one call, especially if he attach the 800 signatures, that 800+ votes. Seems like that what our politician only care about these days. Very sad,,, but true.

It's called minding your own business. Think before you act and cause people all the grief. Reporting is not ALWAYS the right thing to do unless you enjoy tattle telling.
It usually is. When people keep illegal fish, it affects more than one person. It just happens that in this case it doesn't.

Not always:nilly:
When doesn't it?

And to groovitudedude, why was this the right thing to do? Do you also live in a strictly black and white world? Some people need to rethink their priorities and get off their high horses. You know, stones and glass houses.
No, I don't live in a black and white world. I just think that if somebody is doing something that is illegal, they should be reported. And thanks for calling me condescending ;)

i would sign but i hate how they ask you for all that info so i didn't although i think that its rediculous anyones even considering killing it

If that is what you think you are welcome, and I hope you never do the least little thing that is against the law, whether that law makes sense or not. If you do I hope there is someone to report it, because it's the right thing to do.;)

There are laws for reasons. They have speed limits and drinking restrictions for reasons. I just think that, as a fish forum member, it would be reasonable NOT to allow the keeping of illegal species of fish.

I don't really wanna derail anymore than I already have. If you have more to say, PM me :)

I signed the petition a while back when a thread was posted with the ad in the news about this whole ordeal. I personally believe that if the guy has had this fish for this long whats the big deal now:screwy:. Obviously he doesnt intend to release it.

yup me and my boss at work were talkin about it the other day. why would he release it if he took care and feed this fish for 10 years. if he wanted to he would of done so by now

i dont think the part of he got it when it was legal is gettin in your head is it or are you just being ignorant? i dont think he bought it knowing that in a few years it would be illegal to keep one. and its not just an illegal fish this is a fish he had for 10 years, this fish to him is probably considered family. lets put it this way i bet if you had a clown loach/frontosa(since i see um in your avatar) for 5 years (nicely grown, handfed, notices you when you come by the tank) and then the states says they are banned and you can no longer keep um. i bet all my fish and my tanks on it that you wouldnt give that fish up, HANDS DOWN! real hobbyist care about their fish.

We can all really relate to this story especially if you consider that in the future there could very possibly be a ban on any of our "favorite fish or pet". It's because too many ignorant people abuse our rights and privilages and ruin it for the rest of us so then all these restrictions, bans and endagered species problems result, It's sad for many reasons... BTW Chris did nothing wrong! His fish was legal when he got it...
