i'm all about the rescue fish. I once got a yellow lab that had been in my local petsmart for about 10mths he was missing almost all of his top fin but had brillant colors. Well i tell you one thing he is the stud of the tank and produces babies a bright as him.

It looks like a female....NOT positive..the facial coloring usually sets it off..but it may be a little young to tell. I have one about 2" maybe 2.5" looks the same. but with a tail

That's what i thought i didn't see any sort of wound so maybe it was born like that. That is another reason i bought it.

if it has a blue sheen to the cheeks and head it is a male-im guessing yours may turn out to be female-i love venustus too!! she is cute even without the tail..
