Yeah there alot of ignorant ppl around here when it comes to fish. Apparently the only LFS around here has stopped taking in large fish that ppl no longer want. Its too bad that ppl that buy these fish have no idea how big they will get or that they will live for a very long time. I highly doubt these fish would last an hour in the river here, the temp alone would surley be fatal. I guess by throwing them in the river some ppl think they atleast have a chance to live abit longer and its alot easier than trying to find homes for them. I think that if the LFS is willing to sell these type of fish they should atleast dispose of them for customers who can no longer take care of them.
I guess the only time ive had to get rid of fish because they were so big was a cpl common plecos. I chopped off their heads and buried them in my garden. I know it sounds cruel but they had to go and atleast it was quick. Alot better method than just chucking them in the river.
