You say that they would wipe out the fish?:confused: :ROFL: :ROFL: LOL. Whales have small nmouthes and are filter feeders, so that part is inaccurate. the real problem is the krill, wich build the 3rd largest swarms of all animales, their schools contain billons if not trilloins per swarm. just a personal remark, whalesharks kick ass:headbang2

Killer Whales have some teeth !! Krill might be many but look how big an average Whale gob is ! Whales dont get as big as they do eating a couple of krill a day.
 
Whales are nice, but our planet has more urgent issues to resolve.

It has been calculated that Earth can sustain about a billion and a half humans. Meanwhile the Human Sapiens species has some 7 billion specimen and is growing quickly. Whether or not they hunt whales doesn't make much of a difference.

The whales are doomed, if not hunted to extinction they will starve and die of diseases, stress and pollution.

This is something that I never understood about politics; impossibility of multitasking. There must be one main issue to focus on and we can not apply the resources to address anything else!

It is very true that whales are screwed because of the pollution - and because of the warming oceans (whole different argument if you do not believe in global warming http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/08/0801_wirewhales2.html , ignore the comment if you do not as I do not want to get into this). The idea should be to address pollution, disease, and a number of surrounding issues and not just give up. :(
