Yeh, their very aggressive to arent they?
It would outgrow the 1600g too, wouldnt it? Arapaimag's is, or was 155cm right?

She is still alive (23 years I've had her) and around that size.

Have you got any photos of yours?? I am very interested seeing one that size lol

These pictures I have posted several times but it helps show her size.

The width of the wall she is crossing over is 30.5cm (12 inches). She is swimming at a depth of 152cm (5 feet), the tank is 274 cm deep (9 feet) 1097cm long (36 feet) and 823 cm wide (27 feet) in an L shape.

I bought her January 3, 1991 at Aquarium Services (Big Al's) in Mississauga Ontario Canada at 28cm/11.2" She is 154cm/60" plus now.

There is a male in the tank also

I bought him January 23, 1999 at The Fish Place in North Tonawanda New York USA at 38cm/15" He is now between 122 to 132cm (48 to 52").

Monster!!!!

This fish is a contender for the biggest catfish raised and housed in a private tank.

The problem is not so much its size but that even in Michael's 200,000 liter "lake with a window", it kills anything it wants to kill, for food or for pleasure, 3' arapaima, 3' goonch, 2' gourami, maybe 2' attu and 2' aor, what else, Michael?

So in a smaller tank, it will be even more aggressive.
