See if you can get flubendazole or prazi.

Are you sure it's not Camelanus?
IF so, you'll need a swine/cattle dewormer. I think it's called Levisol. It dosen't kill the parasite, it just sort of knocks it out so it releases itself from the intestinal wall, the fish craps them out and then you have to do something like a 90% water change and vacume up all the worms up from the bottom of your tank. I did this to a Blue Dempsy years ago.
The worm sticks out of the vent and goes back in, it starts off white, then as it feeds on your fish it becomes pink from the blood it ingests.

well...i went to the LFS...couldnt get any meds, they didnt have any in stock. so i just left it...the channa is twice the size it was since then and is growing fine..eating well...putting on weight well. never saw the worm since?? so...i dunno what to say really. lol. since it was wild caught fry, im guessing maybe...many wild fish are used to living with tape worm inside them and not having many ill effects?

btw i forgot to ask, is 26degrees celcius ok for a channa tank? the micropeltes one i mean? i might be picking up channa emperor next week :D i got a heads up for new juvies that have just come in :D:D:D

PraziPro from Aquarium Solutions works on tapeworms.

I have used it on new fish and within a couple of days the worms were expelled from the fish.

I killed all the worms in my Angelfish and Raphael catfish by soaking food in Prazi-Pro. I did it twice a day for three days and vacuumed out the dead worms later. I was amazed at how their stomachs deflated! I feed them more now.

but what symptoms do you guys see when your fish have tapeworm? all i saw was a tapeworm hanging out...it seemed pretty lifeless to me...then a few hours later it was gone. but my SH don't appear to be skinny or losing weight or have big bellies when im not feeding them. i havent fed them for a couples of days once and their tummies were flat. plus, they keep putting on weight really quickly. so i have no idea...i dunno if i can get prazipro here...sigh...i think i'm going to have to go for another two hour trip to get meds lol. but would prazipro harm the SH?
