Mine do something similar but they follow the glass to the water line and eat floating cichlid pellets from the water line against the glass. Never seen them upside-down aside from when eating a floating mushroom.

My albino chocolate pleco would do that to round pieces of cucumber I'd throw in that floated on top.

I have bristlenose pleco fry with my red cherry shrimp that do it now cause I sprinkle spirulina powder on the surface. The shrimps were the first to do it though.
