i just found out that my parents were lying to me the whole time. they just informed me that they hated what i do and that i would be kicked out of the house if i dont get rid of my fish. the reason that triggered this form of act is i was going to pick up a beautiful fish not that far from my house. that is when both exploded and told a bunch of harsh words and statements about how a waste of money and time, keeping fish is. i never thought that they would ever say something so bad to me that i adored too much. so im going to sell everything and leave MFK. it seemed money and work is more important than their son's passion for fish keeping. so farwell to all my of my brothers and sisters of MFK and i hope this family will stay together forever. my heart and passion will live on here as i did my part in giving information and showing my love for the hobby.

thanks you all again for you MFkers for the 2 wonderful years i have in fish keeping.

from your beloved MFKer,

age 18

my last quote for MFK " fish keeping isnt a hobby, its a way of life. 2 diffrent types of life form unite, to have one incredible explosion of creativity and love. because one cant live without the other" -Edwin G Avelar

I feel ya, I've been on my own since 17, it was hell let me tell you.

The hobby is not going anywhere, you're always welcome to come back

That's just not right. In my opinion having a fish hobby isn't a waste of money at all. If they see it that way then a lot of the daily things people buy are a waste of money.

They should just be glad that you aren't out doing drugs and boozing all the time (I hope you're not) but home caring for your fish.

dude, your 18. dont sell it all. just put it away for a bit. get a job and move out in a few months. find some of your buddies that want/need a roomate.

They may calm down. If it comes down to it, respect thier wishes while you are in thier house. When you do find a job and get your own place, Make sure it has a basement! then you can keep fish till your heart is content. ps. my son is 20
