I thought sb's could go with abk's. I have 1 sb, 1 leaf fish, 1 abk in a 46gal. The leaf and sb chase the abk, but now I have noticed, the whole tail end of the abk is gone. But he's still eating and swimming around, just hides a lot. :irked:

I've never seen senegals capable of such damage. I keep a senegal and she rarely bothers anyone.

well could my leaf fish have done it? one of them did it, but the sb is big, leaf is small...the sb had to rip its tail part off lol, poor abk

Any photos of the damaged tail? I'd like to see that one. This will help pin down the possible culprit but as far as I am concerned, senegal bichirs are never like that in my experience.

Right now, please isolate the knife and maintain clean water until the tail heals.

Now when you say Leaf Fish do you mean Ctenopoma acutirostre or the South American Leafs. That tail looks pretty bad did this happen grdually or whithin a day or two. As I could see (if it's Ctenopoma) it nipping then the tail getting infected but I would think the abk would be very lethargic if the sen got at him. Again try and quarentine depending on the size of it a ten-twenty gallon could work. (Also find a Knife House or a log, BTW have you posted in the Knifefish Area too they could help you)
