Now when you say Leaf Fish do you mean Ctenopoma acutirostre or the South American Leafs. That tail looks pretty bad did this happen grdually or whithin a day or two. As I could see (if it's Ctenopoma) it nipping then the tail getting infected but I would think the abk would be very lethargic if the sen got at him. Again try and quarentine depending on the size of it a ten-twenty gallon could work. (Also find a Knife House or a log, BTW have you posted in the Knifefish Area too they could help you)
whatever they sell at petsmart, not sure if its really a leaf fish. but this may have happened over a few days, as he would hide in a flower pot all the time, cause the sb and leaf? harrass him a lot....not over a long time though. and what do you mean by knife house?

Yeap that sure is Ctenopoma (they're really not Leaf fish but actually a type of anatobide[Labrinth(sp) Fish]) However, that easily could be the issue, as stated they can become very territorial to other Mid water or othe fish invading they're precieved territory. If you cannot quarentine change your decorations around to change the territory. Nonetheless, Hope you ABK feels better

yep its the Ctenopoma. I just saw him biting at his tail end again. I am going to wal mart today to buy a 15 or 20 gal to house the abk for now. I might put the leaf in it forever, hes made me pretty mad. :irked:

ctempoma can be very agressive but the tail was bitten clean off. I know that sens are not normally agreesive but he's the one with the jaw capabilty to do that in my opinion.

You can house your ctempoma in a 20g but in my opinion he/ she will not be happy in it for life.

Keep their bellies full...I tried skipping a day of feeding and woke up to see a small chunk misSing from my BGK..2 weeks prior they took the tip off his tail..My African knife goes un harmed as he is faster and alittle more aware of the surrounding.

My 2 sens pretty well ignore the knife, but they are pretty scrappy with each other at feeding time. Not aggressive, but they're very intent on eating and occasionally the accidental bite happens. I think my ABK would be too quick for them if they tried to bite him anyway.
