what does adding salt do to the healingn process of injured or sick fish? Wouldn't it actually stress the fish more by changing the electrolyte concentration which the fish has been acclimated to? Wouldn't it have the effect of dehydrating the fish? (if their concentration is heavier in the tank water than what is contained in the fish tissue).
In my opinion, unless the salt concentration is carefully calibrated to match to that of what is contained in the fish tissue or mimic their natural habitat, I believe such treatment method would have an adverse effect.
