I have been hearing a lot about the SCALELESS gene in Snakes and Lizards lately. Here are some pictures I've found:
Tree Boa
Ball Python
Rat Snake
Bearded Dragon
Death Adder
There is also a Scaleless Northern Water Snake, by Snake care book has a picture of it, but I couldn't find a picture online.
So the question is, I heard that Scaleless-gene reptiles need very humid enclosures because water tends to diffuse through the skin. Anyone on here keeping any? I'm trying to imagine my Garter Snake without scales

Those look insane! I'd imagine they couldn't live with anything abrasive. I wonder what one would feel like... suede?
