This guy sent me a text also pretending to be someone that was selling plecos. Good thing i suspected his messages were off.

On here I always look at when the member joined. I realized established accounts can be hacked, but if you have someone who joined in 2026 for example, there has to be more protocol in place before sending money IMHO.
wish you were local id give you some free dats out of my pockets or if you have someone that can pick up thats still an offer for you as well (you would just have to figure out someone who can ship for you)
Wow-What a kind offer. Every once in a while you need to see something like this to restore your hope in mankind. Good soul you are. Hope he gets them from you.
Crazy times we live in. Asking for gas money would've definitely raised an eyebrow for me. On the other end of the spectrum is agreeing to meet up with someone for them to buy something your selling, you drive an hour with fish in a tote and the person is a "no-show" . Now you've wasted your gas, time and your fish is stressed. At this point I only try and deal with members that have longevity and credibility on our forum.
I had a scammer text me about a fish for sale I enquired on here as well. They tried to rush me into paying for the fish. But I insisted on meet up in person for payment. Seems that if you reply to a post with your number, it’s how they start the scam and pretending to be the seller. Asses!!
