thank you:)

gator gar:D the 'fat' ones are cuban gars;)

thanks! i wasn't gonna mess w anymore wood really, just wanted more natural looking substrate. maybe a little bit of plants. i've noticed they don't like wood too much either. will keep this thread updated:)

for plants go with crypts (planted) or watersprite (floating) gars seem to do very well with both (would say even better than if there were no plants), plus they will suck up excess nutrients--

Wow, gator? The pattern on him is really cool.

Yeah, seems like too much structure would just be in their way. I have one piece in my tank but it's more of a long, low piece...my Florida actually seems to like it, he usually lays/rests right up against it.

yeah, he seems to lighten up whenever stressed, he's usually very dark.

yeah, probably uses it as cover:) lets see pics of him!;)

are they easy to mantain? the tank's outdoors, but under a translucent shelter so the tank lights are hardly ever switched on. if so, i would definatly go with them then. esp since they absorb excess nutrients.

nice man as always

uhm mods, the other posts were left in the gar forum. this isn't a new fixture is it?
