I have come to the conclusion that my 16" silver aro does not like the color red. I've had this theory for a while, a few months back I quit using the orange home depot buckets for water changes because it seemed to upset him more than white buckets.

My aro Is normally calm, but every one and a while he'll freak as I am approaching the tank, when this happens I am always wearing a red shirt. So I go change my shirt and everything is fine.:screwy:

Has anyone else noticed this with their aros? The color red does not seem to affect my black aro.

I noticed that all of my fish are generally scared of red as well. I have few red jackets and they put on quite of a show when I approach the tank in red.

I havenoticed this with my convicts, I have tried different background colors and rightr now i have nothing on it and there colors seem a little faded.

Im going to use a dark blue and see if anything happens.

As I dont have my aro, YET I cant say much about them.

is anyone got asian arowana in usa ..i dont really care wa da rule of usa where i come from they had a lot pleaase let me know im in texas

I dont think they are scared of the color red, just that it catches their eye.

Cause people use red pingpong balls and float them to keep the aero from looking down casusing dropeye.

My aro hates red too, he starts losing it when my dad watches him in his red nike jacket.

I have super red PJ's and in the morning i go down to feed the fish.. if i am wearing those PJ's i see my Arow has that weird look in his eyes.. the kind of look i remenber another arow had before he would jump or go wild in the tank..so i take no chances and tread lightly... if i wear other PJ's no problem.. so i definitly think there is more to this then meets the eye..:D

I have always heard that red is the least detectable colour in a fish's vision The majority of the red light rays that try to penetrate the water are absorbed by the water. Thats why they have that special red fishing line. Someone correct me if i am wrong.
