scared serra sanchezi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no worries,
i got a similar sized sanchezi a month or two ago and he is still shy
for the first week he sat in one spot and only moved for food (ive still never seen him eat- but i havnt really watched i just drop food in and go)
when the light is on he swims a bit but not tons but after the light is off when ever i pass the tank he is in a new place so he seems to be more active in the dark (feels more safe i guess)

Ow yeah forgot to ask, how can I make him get used to dead food? he leaves dead fish, doenst eat it, he only attacks live food, and thats a little expensive everytime:(

Do you guys have a method to let a piranha eat non-live food?

Don't feed him live. You start by just plain starving him for 5 days to a week. Buy a pack of silver sides, white fish fillet, squid, shrimp. Then follow my first post. He'll take it. Keep in mind that piranha can go for quite a while without eating so don't be alarmed if he hasn't eaten in two and half weeks. A healthy fish will not starve himself.

Allright, ill try it, my sanchezi is like sean said also active at night, but today when i walked in the room no one was there, no tv on nothing, i saw him swimming around the tank, very happily:)

Thanks for the answers you guys, i really apreciate it..
