I have got two royal plec's at the moment, the oldest one I have had for a year. When I first got him he was around 1.5 inch and now he is 4.5 inchs. Providing you feed them well, good water and plenty of space they should grow. Try potato I find that really bulks them up nicely. Does anyone know how big a female royal plecs grow?
