i was just wondering cuz this pet store had them in an oscar tank and it was fine.

It isn't fine because unless someone takes it that knows what they are doing and can provide for it, its going to end up dead. They need a high dissolved oxygen content in the water, which the cooler water brings, not to mention they are not tank fish.

he had 1 from 4" to 10", then he sold it.

The prove everyone wrong and keep it at 90 degrees.. :irked:

Seriously these people know what they're talking about.. They need cold water they don't come from tropical waters..

ok, thanks

The average temp for those is something around 60 degrees. They are also way too big for anything short than a large pool.

sounds good, im not gonna do this but what if some1 raised the water temp higher and higher very slowely over the time span of like a year or so, would that work?

The fish requires colder water. If you keep it in water that is too warm, it will raise it's metabolism too high, and kill it.

Because it is a high demanding oxygen fish (Much like Tinfoil barbs) it NEEDS cooler waters which hold far more DO (Dissolved Oxygen) then warmer water. I wouldnt exceed 68F with this fish.

im gonna keep it in a cold tank, but if its about the oxygen, then couldnt i just put a but load of bubblers in it and a strong pump to move the water?
