they are silver when there little but turn gold when they get older, also I think diet had something to do with it. when I got him he was eating only goldfish and not really cared for well. once I got him home and gave him the care he needed he brightend up. I should of goten a pic of when I first got him, he was gold and black with a rust red color on his belly.
