We aren't getting on your case just suggesting things to help out your animals. If you hold the nile that much it can cause so much that it can cause it extreme stress and can make it sick. We are just trying to help you, if you don't want our help then good luck and try not to hurt your animals.
Nothing wrong with handling your baby Nile, just do it once a day -- not eight times a day.
Think of herps like fish that can't stand living with other species -- only dry. You don't actually pick up your Oscar out of the water all the time, right?

It would be a waste of time telling you to much at once because you have difficulty taking it all in. You also wouldn't listen to all of it. Giving info to you in bits and peices seems to be the best way things work out.

LC, once every 3 hours is too way much handling for any herp. That's not a negative statement; we're just stating a fact. It will cause unnecessary stress.
Now...if I had said, "LC, once every 3 hours is too way much handling for any herp, and you're an idiot for doing that"....that would be negative. Learn the difference. I try to stick up for you sometimes, but you sure don't make it easy.

when handling any reptile to get them use to human company always start small, about an hour a day if sufficient, then gradually increase the time he spends out of his enclosure, but not too long, 3 hours seems ok as long as you got an eye on him and he doesnt get too cool, its not going to stress him since like most big reptile with a forked tongue he's going to want to wander and explore this new human environment
,but he does have to go back into his enclosure to warm up, eat, drink, "take care of business", you get the idea.

An hour a day seems a lot for just getting it used to handling. I'd go with ten or fifteen minutes every day or every other day, and add a few more minutes every week.
And LC, you ask us for advice, so we assume you want us to help you do it right. Therefore, if you're not doing something right (which happens to all of us now and then, regardless of how much herp experience we have), we'll try to point it out to help out you and your animals. I have no clue why you get upset when someone tells you a better way of doing something, unless it's that you're so completely insecure with yourself that you simply list what you're doing with your animals in the hopes that everyone will pat you on the back and tell you what a wonderful job you're doing.
We're not here to feed your ego cow, so please, for your sake and your animal's sake, come back down to earth and take some of our advice.
