He keeps fish, so it is better to relate him in a fishy manner. There are some herps that are not meant to be handled purely for human interaction, the Tokay and Nile are some of those herps.

I think he mean't think of handling your herp every 3 hours like you going to net your fish and keep it contained every 3 hours.. it causes stress in a similar way..

I just stumbled in here.. but my question is who in on a schedule to handle their herp every 3 hours every day.. that's worse than a baby.. I just think of some kid stumbling out of bed every 3 hours during the night half asleep to handle their monitor...

I can appreciate that you want to get a schedule for your nile. I can also see that you're trying to prove everyone here who said "you're gonna have a big aggro problem when it gets bigger" wrong by handling the nile a lot. It's good to have a herp let you handle it, becauseif you need to take the bugger to a vet, it's gonna need to be calm when handled.

That said, everyone is right, herps get extremely stressed around you. Nobody's doing this to spite you, its just common sense really. I mean, you would hardly be calm if something 20 times bigger than you kept picking you up every 3 hours. The reason people us 'guys say no ur not doing this right' is because you are not, and we are offering you advice, because you made a post ASKING IF YOUR SCHEDULE WAS ALRIGHT.

No offence, but you need a lot of patience to deal with herps, and currently, you are not showing much patience with the board. Stick around, show them you CAN look after this thing, and you will get some respect as a good keeper. Don't expect them to come kissing your shoes because you bought a monitor notorious for being difficult.
